“Elizabeth, is it your desire to want to follow Jesus for the rest of your life?”
This moment is… impossible to describe.
As Elizabeth’s mama, it has been my fervent prayer that she sees the relationship I have with God, what he’s provided for us, and that she develops that same relationship with Him. If you recall, she said a prayer last year – My Lack of Faith – and solidified that relationship.
This year, she made it public.
This year, she announced to the world her desire to follow God for the rest of her life.
We’ve discovered a new song on Sunday mornings, called Boldly I Approach. This song quickly became a favorite and I added it to our playlist in the car.
Sunday after church I put it on as we drove to Elizabeth’s favorite restaurant.
“Boldly I approach your throne.
Blameless now I’m running home.
By your blood I come,
Welcomed as your own,
Into the arms of majesty”
Elizabeth picked up the words as easily as she always does.
“Mommy? Can you play that again?”
“Oh yes baby girl”
We played it 3 times before we arrived for lunch.
There are no words to describe this feeling.
My baby girl sings loudly “This is the art of celebration, knowing we’re free from condemnation. Oh praise the one, praise the one! Who made made an end to all my sin!”
I hope you’ll listen to this song. I hope you’ll share this song. I hope you can feel this incredible peace I have.
Despite every challenge I face, I boldly approach His throne. Blamelessly, I run home and every time, he welcomes me as His own.
The best part? He does it for my children too.
