Post Disclaimer: Keith did not break my heart 🙂
One of my earliest memories is cruising down the highway, riding shotgun next to my mama (early nineties in the boonies, don’t judge), belting out “I can see forever in your eyes” by Reba McEntire. Twenty years later I can still sing that song word for word.
Earlier this year Miranda Lambert released a single titled “Mama’s Broken Heart”. We’ve had many conversations around Miranda and her classy, down home, Reba attitude. So it comes as no surprise that twenty something years later my baby girl is now cruising down the highway with her mama (safely secured in her car seat in the backseat), belting it out at the top of her lungs.
Even better though.
Keith was with us one day and the song popped up on the playlist.
“Mama, mama! It’s our song! Turn it up!”
“Sorry Keith, this conversation needs to be put on hold for the next three minutes”
