“Ma” he exclaims.
I open one eye to capture his sweet round face and big brown eyes. He smiles at me and lifts his arms up to crawl into bed with me. He immediately wraps his arms around me in a monster moose hug, the one that reminds me so much of his dad. I blow kisses into his neck and he starts laughing uncontrollably. I love that laugh so much, I didn’t hear it for almost a full year and now I hear it almost 99% of the time. It’s definitely a true gift from God that I thank him for every day.
Throughout the day I fetch food and drinks for my growing boy (he now wears the same size shoe as his older sister!)
When I’m fortunate enough to be home at nap time he crawls into my lap where I rock him to sleep with a firm pat on the bum. He snuggles closely into the crook of my arm and wraps his own arm around my neck.
In the evening we settle into the couch for one of the kids’ favorite movies. He contently climbs up next to me and sits quietly throughout the movie.
When bedtime rolls around, he blows kisses to all the family members and climbs the stairs, hand in hand with either me or big sister.
This is my capricorn boy. Is he like other 2 year old boys? Most definitely, he spends many minutes in the corner for hitting his sister, we’ve had our fair share of emergency room visits, and I’m at my wits end trying to figure out how to stop him from drinking out of the toilet. Beyond that though, he is truly one of the most passionate, content, ‘calm’, boys I’ve ever met. And I’m glad he’s mine.
